Moonis Elahi Remand Extend

MPA Moonis Elahi of the PML-Q was handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on a three day physical remand in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) case on Monday, DawnNews reported.

Moonis was presented in civil judge Irfan Basra’s court after the completion of an earlier remand.

FIA officials had told court that the agency had to recover Rs320 million from the accused which he was alleged to have embezzled in the NICL.

Moonis had first surrendered to the FIA on Thursday after an LHC division bench rejected his application for a pre-arrest bail in the NICL scam.

Moonis Elahi Declared Proclaimed Offender

Leader of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) and MPA Moonis Elahi has been declared proclaimed offender in NICL scam.

According to FIA sources, Moonis Elahi had to appear before FIA investigation team for investigation into NICL scandal but he fails to appear, resulting FIA filed a plea before Judicial Magistrate Irfan Basra.

The judicial magistrate declared him proclaimed offender and ordered him to appear before the court on March 11.

The sources added that FIA would contact Interpol for the arrest of Moonis Elahi.
