Rihanna Performance in American Idol

Making her much-awaited appearance on the small screen, Rihanna took the stage for a guest performance on "American Idol" on Thursday night (April 14).

The Barbadian singing sensation brought the audience to their feet as she added a bit of sexiness to the FOX show while offering up a rendition of her hit song "California King Bed".

The elimination round showcase was RiRi's second visit to "Idol" - as she previously belted out her tune "Rockstar 101" during the singing competition series just last year.

Now set to enjoy a month and a half of free time, the 23-year-old is then lined up to kick off her Loud tour beginning June 4 in Baltimore with Cee-Lo an J.Cole as opening acts.

Jennefer Nettles says she’s excited about performing with Rihanna.

The singers will take to the stage together at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 3 and Nettles is adamant she can’t wait to join forces with the Umbrella hitmaker.

Rihanna and Nettles will duet on California King Bed at the 46th annual show, airing April 3 at 8 p.m. on CBS.

“It’s the first time that Lady Ri and I have ever sung together and the first time that this song will be performed live so we are thrilled,” Nettles said,

“We’re just big fans of each other. We wanted to do something that was fun and different and fresh, and I reached out to her and said, ‘Hey, anything you want to do?’ and she said, ‘I have this song that I specifically would love to do,’ and I said, ‘Yes ma’am, we will do it.’”

“It is such a moment. And I think what it shows us is that good music is good and good performance is good, and as long as you like it, who cares what you call it. Get out there and have fun with each other.

“I am planning on having a diamond-encrusted crotch.”
