Enjoy A Casino Afternoon Delight

Gamblers around the country are always looking for new times to enjoy their favorite past time, and one recent trend found at casinos is gamblers enjoying an afternoon delight. Taking off for a casino at lunch time is becoming increasingly popular.

"I go to the casino in the early afternoon at least twice a week," said Mark Blummer, who was enjoying a sandwich at the cafe at the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino in South Florida. "I can grab something to eat real quick, just like I could find at a restaurant, and then I get to play slots for around forty-five minutes. It's a great way to break up the day."

The expansion of the casino industry has given people another option for their lunch breaks. Many casinos even offer buffets for lunch, knowing that gamblers want to get in and out in a short period of time. The quicker the casinos can get the gamblers to eat, the more of their lunch break they can spend at the machines.

Bridget Thompson of Fort Lauderdale insists that the slot machines pay out more in the afternoon. Although that opinion is not verified as truth, it is believable that Thompson feels the slot payouts are looser in the day. Gamblers have long been superstitious when it comes to their favorite times of the day to play slots.

Casinos do not mind the extra attention they are experiencing during the afternoon hours. The evening is still the most profitable time of the day at most casinos, but a good afternoon rush can sometimes make up for variables the casinos cannot control.

This winter was a stormy one across the Northeast, and casinos had several days where gamblers were forced to stay away because of road closures and inclement weather. At times, the casinos made up for those days with strong lunch rushes. It is afternoon gamblers like Blummer and Thompson that are helping casinos recover from the economic recession.
